UPC Innovation Unit has 25 years of experience promoting Entrepreneurship & Innovation activities. UPC was the first Spanish University to develop a business creation program, and a successful track record in technology transfer, as the Spanish university that has generated more spin offs based in UPC technologies per year since 1998.
Parc Mediterrani de la Tecnologia
PMT is a private company owned by UPC, created in 2001, with the aim to promote education, research, technology transfer and manage incubation buildings in Parc Mediterrani de la Tecnologia (Campus UPC Baix Llobregat), where will be performed the ESA BIC Barcelona Activity and the optional allocation of the ESA Incubatees.

Generalitat de Catalunya
The Government of the Generalitat of Catalonia promotes the NewSpace Strategy of Catalonia, which will deploy a program of specific actions to strengthen the ecosystem of the Catalan NewSpace and lead the generation of knowledge, its social and business application, and the creation of new solutions based on data facilitated by the use of new technology in this area, with the aim of promoting economic growth and improving people’s lives.
The Strategy will involve rolling out a multisector and crosscutting plan focused on public administration needs and the impact on the country’s citizens and businesses, which will prioritise territorial management, agriculture and livestock farming, hydrography, cartography, public services and other spheres.
This Strategy will be implemented through an action plan based on the following strategic areas:
– Ecosystem
– Research and innovation
– Talent and society
– Infrastructure and data
– Adoption of NewSpace services
– Regulatory framework
